Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process. The Eagle Scout rank has been earned by over 2.5 million youth

The American Legion was founded on four pillars: Americanism, Children and Youth, National Security, and Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation. Tustin American Legion participates with local Boy Scout Troops in recognizing this achievement as fulfilling two of the American Legion's four pillars: Americanism and Children and Youth. Eagle Scouts are presented with a certificate and medal as part of their Court of Honor ceremony.
